  Under the
control of the German Meteorological Service, and in cooperation
with the German Armed Forces and the meteorological services of
Switzerland, Denmark and Canada, a highly-modern workplace system
has been developed for all types of meteorological data. The
software named NinJo provides for the comprehensive visualisation
of observational data, model calculations, satellite and radar
images and much more besides in the form of maps, diagrams,
tables, etc. The entire system is modular and extendable, and it
also operates independent of the operating system, and can be
used in Unix, Linux or Windows environments.
The EuMetSys consortium under the leadership of Ernst Basler +
Partner has been closely involved from the beginning in the
conception, development, and project control. After the
successful release of Version 1.0 in 2006 we have taken on
responsibility for the international marketing on behalf of all
the participating services.
