Since 1995, Ernst Basler + Partner has been providing central
office services for seven Brandenburg towns located around
Berlin. In addition to the administrative and organisational
supervision of the networking, and the moderation of project
groups and working groups, the remit also involves providing
policy consultancy in various fields of urban
development.
The cooperation between the towns service primarily the
following goals:
| - |
The continuous exchange
of information and experience on key questions relating to
urban development, |
| - |
The joint representation
of interests, and |
| - |
The initiation and
implementation of joint activities and projects. |
The cooperation is currently concentrating on the following
topics:
| - |
Strategic planning and
formation of local adaptation processes to falling
populations and over-ageing |
| - |
The forward-looking
organisation of relationships between towns and local
communities to establish attractive and viable urban
regions |
| - |
Utilisation of
intercommunal cooperation to enhance the position of the
towns in the competition between European Regions |
An important current project is the "Local Authority Economic
Reports - on economic development and economic promotion", and
models for these are being developed and designed for the seven
towns.
