| Integrated urban development and redevelopment | | | | | | Demographic change and economic structural processes in the towns and cites of Germany's New Federal States have given rise to projects known as "Urban Redevelopment East", and increasingly there is also a need for "Urban Redevelopment West". The initial situations and the problem constellations differ considerably and require tailor-made strategies and mixtures of instruments, integrating all departments of the municipal authorities.
From the start, Ernst Basler + Partner has played an active part in the processes of urban redevelopment, in particular in a wide range of projects in Brandenburg, and we have made a series of significant contributions both in theory and practice. In addition to various planning and consultancy services for towns such as Brandenburg an der Havel, Neuruppin and Guben, research on urban redevelopment has been carried out for departments of regional and national government, and we have accompanied the Redevelopment Project Group for Brandenburg towns around the Berlin conurbation.
